Our Requirements and Rules

ABBOT DAYSPRING SCHOOLS RULES AND REGULATIONS

The School management does not triffle with discipline. In pursuit of a high moral standard, the school has zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline.

The following rules and regulations are to be complied with by every student and pupil.

  1. Every student must be in the school compound latest by 7:30am (Monday to Friday) as there is no room for lateness.

  2. The student call bells must be obeyed promptly at all times.

  3. No student should be found outside the classroom without a pass except during the break time.

  4. Noise making is a taboo. Students are to maintain perfect silence in the school. Discussions are only allowed during long break.

  5. No student has the right to challenge the authority of class captains and prefects.

  6. Students are not to take laws into their hands. When a fellow student offends you, report to a teacher.

  7. Fighting/Physical combat and the use of abusive language is not allowed within and outside the school premises.

  8. Students must be neatly and properly dressed at all times, in the appropriate school uniforms.

  9. Mini/Short dresses are not allowed.

  10. The female students should either wear short hair or make the recommended style for the week. This must be complied with always. Bonding of hair, use of hair bands, clip ruffle, pins, etc is forbidden. No styling of permed hair for both boys and girls. Use of all kinds of attachment to extend hair growth is not allowed.

  11. Wearing of long nails is not allowed.

  12. No student is to apply any form of make-up to the school, i.e. painting of nails, lips, eyelids, etc.

  13. Use of wristbands, bangles, necklaces, etc is not allowed. Every student must partake whole-heartedly in all school activities. No student/ pupil shall leave the compound without permission during school hours.

  14. Students are not to challenge or confront the security men. You must show them respect and comply with their instructions.

  15. No student should receive any visitor without permission during school hours.

  16. The senior students are not supposed to discipline the junior ones and the junior students must not be rude to their seniors. Senior students are not to send the junior ones on errands.

CONDUCT/BEHAVIOUR

a.

Rudeness to constituted authorities

Penalty is at the discretion of the principal

Verbal abuse of staff and other students

4.

DRESS CODE

a.

Wearing unapproved or impersonated uniform(s) to school

The items will be seized and returned

b.

Wearing of unapproved or wrong footwear or socks

c.

Use of dangling earings, hair bonds and other accessories

d.

Wearing wrong hairstyles and bad cuts, keeping long nails, use of makeup of any form, wearing short / tight-fitting uniforms

The student(s) will not be allowed to stay in school untill adjustment or correctionis effected

e.

Flying out shirts (uniform) in and out the school

The shirt(s) or Uniform will be seized from such students

f.

Sagging / defacing of uniforms

5.

CLASSROOM CONDUCT

a.

Noise making

Penalty is the discretion of the teacher

Playing football in the classroom

Disruptive and abusive comments

Leaving the classroom without teacher’s permission

6.

SCHOOL/CLASSROOM ATTITUDE

a.

Defaulting in copying of notes

Such student(s) will stay outside until the notes are completed and the assignments are done

Defaulting in Assignments

Tapping, pilfering or stealing in and outside the classroom or school

Disciplinary committee decision on suspension or expulsion

d.

Setting up or joining money thrift/contribution societies

All monies will be seized; disciplinary committee decision

e.

Loitering and wandering on the street during and after school hours without genuie reason or explanation

Such student(s) will be arrested by the school security personal

f.

Wild partying, drug and alcohol consumption / intake

EXAMINATION CONDUCT

a.

Any form of cheating during test or examination

Cancellation of the papers

Alteration / Erasure / Cancellation of CA cards, reports cards, tellers and receipts

IMMORALITY & TECHNOLOGY RELATED OFFENCES

a.

Writing love letters, online or offline dating, making advances to the opposite sex

Involvement in pornography

Setting up groups involving students online or offline

Involvement in immoral games, sharing of magazines, flash drives, movies, etc online or offline

e.

Boyfriend / Girlfriend relationships, sharing immoral online links or partners

f.

Bring phones and electrical gadgets to school, use of phones by student

Devices will be seized and never returned

GAMBLING AND BETTING

a.

Gambling in the school

DRESSING:

School Uniform/Black Shoe/White Socks – MONDAYS, TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS

Sportswear/Trainers/White Socks – WEDNESDAYS & FRIDAYS

BOOKS/TIMETABLE: All books should be purchased from the school bookshop.

PG – Nursery: Special square notebooks

B1 – B3: “40” leaves notebooks

B4 – JS 3: “60” leaves notebooks

SS 1 – SS 3: Higher Education notebooks

Pupils and students are expected to copy their timetable every term for better planning and time management.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENTS:

The school gives a continuous assessment card to each student twice every term. This should be duly signed by parent(s) and returned to the school immediately.
